The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (Colombian Patent and Trademark Office) has issued Resolution number 69699 dated 30 December 2009, by means of which industrial property official fees were modified. In general, official fees increased between 2% and 4%, with a few exemptions worth noting. The application fee for invention and utility models patents will now cover the first 10 claims, while in the past it covered the first 15 claims. The request for the reestablishment of rights due to acts mentioned in article 22 of PCT increased by 100%, to approximately USD1500. The recordal of licenses also increased by approximately 83%, both for distinctive signs and new creations, to approximately USD250.
